A published book is a marvellous door opener and will take you in directions you never dreamt of. It becomes the best business card you will ever have. It is also a thoroughly satisfying way to share your thoughts and wisdom with your clients. The introduction of print on demand has democratised printing in the favour of the author. As a result the publishing industry has been transformed and going through a major rethink – not too dissimilar to the music industry a few years earlier. You can now go from edited manuscript to printed book within a few days and low print runs from one upwards are economically viable. Combined with all of this, there are many new ways readers (and listeners) want to engage with the written word. Nowadays a printed book is just one option.
