Links straight to blogs in LinkedIn Discussions |
|
As I wander LinkedIn Groups reviewing discussions, adding my own contributions as I feel the vibe, certain things tend to irritate me. King among them is when people add a link straight to their blog rather than to share more details on the actual discussion page. I find this rude and assumptive. It is well known that in an email most of those that open the email don’t click for more and so energy can be wasted by not taking the time to offer clarity at the first opportunity. If I want more I can take the opportunity to click but not straight away. This evening I popped in to see what was cooking on our Social Media Directors group, one where we made the decision to allow members to add freely with very minimal control. (In our BinB Group we apply much more controls to manage the flow of information.) A new post did exactly this, completely avoiding having any header text, simply clicking straight through to a blog post. Ironically the blog talked about the top 10 rules of social media ;) This prompted me to ask the question above and it would be great if you could contribute and share what you feel is good practise.
